Mr. Tada directs overall policy and
operations for Limoneira Company, a 105 year old diversified agribusiness concern, based
in Santa Paula, California, with operations in Ventura, Fresno, Tulare and Santa Barbara
counties. The company is a large grower, packer and shipper of citrus, as well as being a
supplier of products to domestic and Pacific Rim markets. Additionally, Limoneira grows
avocados and has ownership in the Oxnard based Mission Produce, Inc. which markets
avocados and specialty produce. Pierre is also President of Limoneira Company's land,
nursery, real estate and corporate acquisition subsidiaries. Mr. Tada is very familiar
with the global marketplace as his company is currently facing the onslaught of foriegn
imports while trying to expand exports to Asia.
Pierre also serves on the board of
directors of companies involved in food processing, real estate investment, agricultural
acquisitions, water and financial services. Pierre is a director and Chairman of
Mission Produce Inc., is an alternate Director of Sunkist Growers and Packers
Benefit Trust where he helps oversee pension plans and industry benefit plans. He
also co-chairs the U. S. CitrusScience Council, a citrus industry organization
representing 5,000 growers which is organized to address the science behind trade issues,
particularly focused on the Argentine Citrus Import Petition.
Pierre is a past President of the
Ventura County Economic Development Association and on the Board of Directors of the
Ventura County United Way. Pierre has also served on the board of directors and is
past President of the Santa Paula Rotary Club and serves on the investment committee of
the Ventura County Community Foundation and serves on the boards of other industry,
community, charitable and professional organizations.
Prior to coming to Limoneira Company
in 1987, Pierre worked as an executive for Carlsberg Corporation, The Bekins Company, and
Southmark Corporation. His assignments included: overseeing corporate and financial
operations, mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, and overseeing public
offerings of over $500 million in securities. Right out of school he worked as a
practicing CPA for the international accounting and consulting firm Deloitte and Touche,
formally Deloitte, Haskins and Sells.
Pierre was born in Seattle,
Washington in February 1958, and graduated from high school in St. Regis, Montana.
He earned his Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration from California State
University Northridge in 1980 and is a Certified Public Accountant, State of
California. He received his MBA at the University of California Los Angeles,
Anderson Graduate School of Management. Pierre is a graduate of Clas XXII of the
California Agricultural Leadership Program.
Pierre is married to Rebecca, his
wife of 17 years, and lives in Ventura, California.
