Agricultural Tour in Ventura County

7:15 a.m. Registration - City National Bank (parking lot), 500 Esplanade Drive, Oxnard.
Coffee and Continental Breakfast courtesy of Soares, Sandall, Bernacchi & Petrovich.

8:00 a.m. Bus departs.

8:30 a.m. Arrival at Tierra Rejada Ranch, a branch of Underwood Family Farms. Owner Craig Underwood will share with you his vision in building this unique fully operational working farm which offers visitors the opportunity to pick their own fruits and vegetables. Tierra Rejada offers an informative and educational experience, as well as a great day outdoors for the entire family.

9:30 a.m. Bus departs Tierra Rejada Ranch for the Underwood Farm Market in Somis.

9:45 a.m. Arrival at Underwood Farm Market where the Underwood Family Farm provides the latest in unique farm fresh products. Here Craig Underwood will share with you the challenges and opportunities today's agribusiness farmer faces in combining traditional farming techniques with modern marketing.

10:15 a.m. Depart Underwood Farm Market for Bordier's Nursery.

10:30 a.m. Arrival at Bordier's Nursery where we will be met by General Manager Don Bowden. Bordier's Nursery is one of California's largest suppliers of ornamental trees. With 200 acres at their Somis satellite, production and sale of woody ornamental nursery stock has been a principal activity at Bordier's for more than 50 years. Our visit will include a look at the nursery's outdoor operations including field trees and transplanting.

11:30 a.m. Depart Bordier's for the Dullam Strawberry Farm.

12:00 p.m. Arrival at the Dullam Farm where John Dullam will share with you the science and the art of cultivating strawberries, one of Ventura County's premier crops. Following a strawberry fields visit a Santa Maria style barbecue luncheon will be served.

1:00 p.m. Bus departs Dullam Farm and returns to City National Bank parking lot.
